We have a pair of writers joining Gaslamp Ball this week, so please say hello to Michael Black and Jeremy Brener.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our call for new staff members. We are still planning to hire a few more writers to cover the Padres for Gaslamp Ball, and I will be reaching out shortly if I haven’t contacted you already about one of our openings on the site.

Michael Black is a lifelong Padres fan, and you may have seen his previous Padres writing at Fansided.

“A PadsFan4Ever and one of the lucky few to have witnessed the first World Series game ever played in Padres history,” Michael said. “I’m hoping to bring an authentic, creative, fun, knowledgeable and exciting style that Padres fans from all generations will enjoy.”

Jeremy Brener has contributed all over the SB Nation network, including Battle Red Blog, The Dream Shake, Black & Gold Banneret, and Bucs Dugout.

He’s is an experienced SB Nation writer for six years and is excited to join the Gaslamp Ball family. Jeremy is hoping to rally together the Padres community as they embark on a potential postseason run and is ready to cover the most exciting team in baseball.

Thank you to Michael and Jeremy for joining the site. We look forward to reading your work on the Padres.
