The San Diego Padres declared on Friday evening that outfielder Wil Myers is being shipped off the 10-day IL (right knee irritation). Brent Rooker is being called up to supplant Myers on the significant association program. Myers hadn't played since Tuesday in St. Louis and was feeling "less hopeful" than Bob Melvin about how his knee was doing. He had a go at doing treatment and getting an infusion throughout the span of the most recent couple of days yet it seems like there hasn't been a lot of progress. Up to this point this season, Myers is hitting .234 with a .583 OPS in 134 plate appearances. While Myers is on the IL, Rooker will be able to show what he has at the major association level. He played in the majors with the Minnesota Twins in 2020 and 2021, hitting a joined .212 in those two seasons with 10 homers. Such a long ways for El Paso this year, Rooker has a .926 OPS with 23 RBI. He has struck out multiple times how much times he has strolled yet that is who Rooker has been in his expert vocation.
