Padre of the Day

Jim Riggleman

JIM RIGGLEMAN PADRES

After eight seasons managing in the St. Louis Cardinals farm system, Riggleman became the manager for the Padres during the 1992 season after the departure of Greg Riddoch. During his first full season in 1993, the Padres struggled, going 61-101 under Riggleman. In 1994, the Padres slightly improved and went 47-70 before the league locked out in the middle of August. Riggleman was not retained for the 1995 season, and he took a managing job with the Chicago Cubs. Riggleman has also served as a manager for the Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds.
