Future Hall-of-Famer Trevor Hoffman records his 552nd and final save of his career in the penultimate game of the 2008 season. It also marked his 902nd and final game as a member of the Padres. Hoffman closed his Padres career with a 3–2 win over the Pirates at Petco Park. Hoffman holds the NL records for saves and appearances with a single team.
