Tony Gwynn becomes the all-time hit leader in franchise history after surpassing Hall of Famer Dave Winfield with his 1,135th hit. Gwynn is still the all-time hits leader in Padres history with 3,141. Gwynn would go on to be inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2007.
