Scott Sanders allows one hit and three walks with 10 strikeouts over eight innings and combines on a two-hit shutout with Mike Oquist as the Padres win 6–0 in Montreal. Sanders spent his first four MLB seasons in San Diego and returned in 1998 for a World Series run.
