The Padres acquire outfielder Brian Giles from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for left-handed pitcher Oliver Perez and outfielder Jason Bay. Giles spent the final six seasons (and some change) of his career in San Diego, batting .279 in his Padres career.
