1974 - First baseman Willie McCovey hits a three-run homer and right-handed pitcher Dave Freisleben allows three hits and seven walks while striking out three in a complete-game shutout as the Padres defeat the Expos 3–0 in Montreal. While McCovey is a San Francisco Giants legend, McCovey had a brief career in San Diego, playing 2.5 seasons from 1974-76.
