Fernando Tatis Jr. doubled in the first to give the Padres an early 1-0 lead and Joe Musgrove fanned 11 batters in seven innings to keep the Rockies down as San Diego blanked Colorado 3-0 in game one of their four-game home stand.

Musgrove allowed just three hits and walked one. Drew Pomeranz also K’d a pair.
Jake Cronenworth went yard in the eighth with a two-run shot to push the Padres up three late. Tommy Pham and Eric Hosmer led the team with two hits apiece.
Rockies starter Kyle Freeland struck out four in six innings while allowing eight hits with one walk.
Game two is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. this evening. Ryan Weathers (4-2, 2.73 ERA) will be back on the mound against Jon Gray (6-6, 3.67 ERA).
