MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

The Diamondbacks rallied to take the lead in the seventh, but Fernando Tatis Jr. did Fernando Tatis Jr. things on the other side of the inning when he doubled into left field to bring home the game-winning run en route to elevating the Padres over Arizona by a score of 5-4. The win clinched the series for San Diego and was their ninth win in the past 10 games.

Yu Darvish put together another solid performance on Sunday afternoon with seven strikeouts with one run allowed through six innings. Emilio Pagan also struck out a pair in the eighth and Mark Melancon recorded yet another save with his 24th on the season.

Tommy Pham started off the scoring for the day with a solo home run in the opening period. Jake Cronenworth tacked on another run with an RBI single to score Trent Grisham later in the inning.

The D-backs got on the board in the fourth after P. Smith scored off a wild pitch by Darvish. Down 2-1 entering the seventh, Arizona would go on to score three runs in the seventh to take the lead 4-2.

On the other side of the seventh, Grisham brought the Padres within one with an RBI double and then Cronenworth tied things at 4-4 after driving in Pham. As mentioned earlier, Tatis then did the rest.

The Friars will get today off before they head out east to face the Reds in another three game series. Game one is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 4:10 p.m.
