Avoid the sweep!

MLB: San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The Padres head into today’s game three with hopes of avoiding their first sweep since their opening series against the Brewers in mid-April. Fernando Tatis Jr. will remain out with oblique tightness but the Padres have managed to find success without Nino on the field before.

Dinelson Lamet (1-0, 2.57 ERA) is the team’s starter this morning. He’ll be facing Adbert Alzolay (3-4, 3.81 ERA).

Starting Lineup

Tatis is remaining out today after leaving yesterday’s game early and Ha-Seong Kim will start at shortstop in his place while batting sixth. Eric Hosmer, who has been playing some strong baseball lately, will replace Tatis at the cleanup spot. Wil Myers is also getting the day off and will be replaced in right field by Tucupita Marcano. Webster Rivas will catch for Lamet.

Enjoy the game! Go Padres!
