Happy Friday, Friar Faithful.

The Padres are set to do battle once again with the Giants in a three-game series that could shift the standings in the NL West. San Diego comes in with an 18-14 record, just a half game behind San Francisco (18-13) in the division.

Despite being second in the division, the Padres are the only team in the NL West to not score at least 130 runs on the year. The Giants with 138 runs scored while the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and Rockies currently sit with 157, 154, and 151, respectively. On the flip-side, the Padres have allowed the least amount of runs in the division with 107, just one less than the Giants.

Tonight’s pitching matchup pits Blake Snell (1-0, 3.50 ERA) against Anthony DeScalfani (2-1, 2.00 ERA).

Starting Lineup

The lineup is back to normal to begin this series with Trent Grisham, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Manny Machado kicking things off with Eric Hosmer batting cleanup. Austin Nola is behinf the plate tonight to catch for Snell.
