Padres Game Thread 5/22/21: Mariners @ Padres

Here’s to hoping all of you have been enjoying your weekends thus far! The Friars can clinch their third-straight series victory tonight over the Mariners and with the team’s current momentum, that seems to be all but the case.

Ryan Weathers (2-1, 1.37 ERA) is on the mound tonight to face Justus Sheffield (3-3, 4.62 ERA).

Starting Lineup

Manny Machado continues to get some rest as Ha-Seong Kim will replace him at third tonight. The top of the lineup sees some change with Tommy Pham in the leadoff spot and the duo of Jurickson Profar and Jake Cronentworth following behind him. The team is also keeping Fernando Tatis Jr. in the cleanup spot since that seems to be creating some luck as of late. Jorge Mateo will start in center for Trent Grisham, who also deserves a day off.
