The bullpen came through on a quiet offense night, allowing just one hit through the game’s final four innings while combining to fan seven. Pierce Johnson ended the day by striking out three in the top of the 10th to help set up the Padres for their game-winning score.
Jake Cronenworth led the Friars with three hits on four plate appearances and Jurickson Profar recorded the team’s lone RBI earlier in the second.
The Rockies got on the board first in the top of the second when third baseman Josh Fuentes laced an RBI-double into deep center field to score first baseman C.J. Cron from third. The Padres retaliated on the other side of the inning with Profar’s ground out to second which scored Tommy Pham from third.
