Padres Game Thread 4/7/21: Giants @ Padres

Time to win us a series.

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

In his first start for the Padres, Blake Snell retired eight batters in just under five innings in a San Diego victory. Tonight, he’ll look to continue the strong start to his time in pinstripes.

He’s scheduled to face right-hander Kevin Gausman. In his lone start this season, the 30-year old struck out six in 6 13 innings.

And for those who haven’t seen the good news, Fernando Tatis Jr. is not expected to have surgery for his left shoulder subluxation. He’ll be placed on the 10-Day IL and hopefully return within that timeframe.

Starting Lineup

Tonight’s lineup sees a bit of a shakeup from top to bottom. Jake Cronenworth will kick things off once again but he will be followed by Wil Myers this time around. Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer follow in the third and fourth spots before we see Luis Campusano getting his latest start. Tonight’s back half of the lineup will include Jurick Profar and Ha-Seong Kim in their previous spots with Jorge Mateo getting a nod in center.

Enjoy the game! Go Padres!
