Padres Game Thread 4/6/21: Giants @ Padres

MLB: San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

To be honest, I think there’s an equal chance that neither the players, nor the fan base, really cares about the game tonight after the horrific scene from 24 hours ago involving Fernando Tatis Jr. There might have been some info given within the club, but us fans are still stuck waiting in the cold for some semblance of news. Not even good news, we just want any “news.”

But regardless of what we hear or don’t hear from the team tonight, the Padres will still be facing the Giants.

Yu Darvish is back on the mound for his second start of the season. The Padres came away with a a narrow 8-7 victory over the Diamondbacks in that game but Darvish could certainly stand to polish some things heading into tonight’s contest.

We’ll see if he’s able to keep some of the Giants hits inside the walls, at least.

Starting Lineup

With Tatis out, Tommy Pham takes over the number two spot behind Jake Cronenworth. Also in place of Tatis, Ha-Seong Kim will record his first start in the majors at shortstop. Victor Caratini will also make his second start in a row despite usually trading starts with Luis Campusano.

Enjoy the game and Go Padres!
