IT’S OPENING DAY!!!!
LET’S GO!!!!!
The Padres are back in Petco Park for the first time to kick off the 2021 MLB season with a four-game home series against the Diamondbacks.
Yu Darvish is your Opening Day starter in his first season with San Diego and he’ll be facing the 31-year old Madison Bumgarner on the other side. Bumgarner struggled to a 1-4 record in nine games in 2020 and finished with a career-worst 6.48 ERA.
Darvish is coming off a spectacular year where he finished fourth in the majors with a 2.01 ERA and 93 strikeouts, good enough to tie with Dinelson Lamet for seventh-most in MLB. Darvish also finished with 76 innings pitched, the fifth-most of any pitcher last year.
Now let’s check out today’s starting lineup.
