Earlier this year, we found out that Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. would be the next cover athlete for MLB The Show 21. Today, he accepted another honor from the makers of the video game when he was given the first Diamond Club Award of 2021. The honor will be given out to 40 players total, all signifying one of the game’s best and brightest players for this upcoming season.
The award comes with a trophy and a unique, one-of-one Topps baseball card of Tatis, himself.
Welcome to the Diamond Club!

The Diamond Club was first introduced in last year’s edition of the game, MLB The Show 20. This club represents the best players within the game mode, Diamond Dynasty.
At the end of the video, Padres pitching legend Trevor Hoffman told Tatis to “go present Manny Machado with his award,” which tells us that the other star player for the Padres will also be included in this year’s exclusive Diamond Club.
