Bell served in the Padres bullpen from 2007-2011 and was named to the NL All-Star team three times. He led the league in saves in 2009. In the 2012 offseason, Bell was a free agent and signed a contract with the Miami Marlins. He spent the 2013 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the 2014 season with the Tampa Bay Rays before retiring.
