Game Thread: 9/23 Angels @ Padres

Huge, huge apology for the almost irrelevant game thread today. Turns out I hit “AM” instead of “PM” when scheduling so it was going to post early next morning. I posted it anyway to give you somewhere to still discuss.

Again, my apologies.

Mike Clevinger (2-1) is starting on the mound today in what should be the second-to-last time we see him before the playoff push. He’ll be facing 24-year old Jaime Barria (1-0).

It’s nice to be in the playoffs already, but some more wins and the clinching of the #4 seed would also be pretty cool. Let’s hope they get all that figured out today.

Starting Lineup

The lineup gets a little bit of a shakeup near the top where Jake Cronenworth is batting second, in place of Fernando Tatis Jr., behind Trent Grisham with Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer following him up. Machado is also the team’s DH this afternoon with Greg Garcia getting the nod at third. Jason Castro will be the team’s catcher, as well.
