The Padres (31-17) continue to ride their hot streak into a huge three-game series against the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers (33-14). San Diego comes into this one winners of seven in a row while the Dodgers have lost four of their last seven contests.
San Diego is just 2.5 games behind the Dodgers, which is the closest they’ve been since the start of the season. The Friars also still lead the majors in runs scored with 270 and sit third with a +76 run differential.
It’s going to be “best against best” tonight as Dinelson Lamet (2-1) will be on the mound to kick off the series against the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw (5-1).
Enjoy the game and Go Padres!
