Game Thread: 8/31 Padres @ Rockies

Happy Monday, everyone.

We got some of the new guys in the house tonight which gives us one of our first looks at what this team’s playoff lineup will look. With all the player movement it seemed like the Friars were trading the whole team away but somehow A.J. Preller managed to shift the outlook of this team while not trading away anyone from their talented young core.

It’s going to be an exciting finish to the current series with the Rockies. Let’s hope the new guys don’t wait long to show the fans why they were sought after by San Diego.

Starting Lineup

Newly-acquired Mitch Moreland instantly slides in at 1B to give Hosmer some rest while he gets the nod as the team’s DH tonight. Austin Nola also gets his first start with the Padres tonight at catcher.

After the team’s latest moves, the bottom of the lineup doesn’t look anywhere near as worrisome, even as recently as 24 hours ago.
