Game Thread: 8/28 Padres @ Rockies

The Padres (19-14) are headed back to Coors Field for a four-game series against the Rockies (16-15), who took their last series two to one.

Maybe a slap in the face is what was needed for the Friars, who dropped two of three against the Mariners, who came into the series with a 11-19 record.

The Friars will look to Zach Davies (4-2) to help get them back on track. He’ll face the left-handed Kyle Freeland (2-1) who last pitched in a 4-3 loss to the Dodgers on August 22.

Starting Lineup

San Diego is trotting out one of their strongest lineups they can, serving up their strongest bats through their first six spots. TY France has been a spark at times, so he’ll be the DH tonight, and the athletic Jorge Mateo gets the nod before Austin Hedges at catcher.
