Game Thread: 8/15 Padres @ Diamondbacks

A re-vamped lineup is on tap for tonight.

Tonight is game two of a best-of-three series in Phoenix with the Diamondbacks. It’s time to stop this rolling stone before it flies off the cliff.

25-year old Cal Quantrill (2-0) is the Padres’ guy tonight on the mound. He’ll face Alex Young (1-0), the 26-year old lefty from Arizona.

Manny Machado hasn’t recorded a hit the last two games and has just one since recording a grand slam against the Dodgers in game two of their series. Fernando Tatis Jr. also has just a single hit since that same contest. The Diamondbacks have been THE team to help get the Padres right when they start to falter so tonight’s as good a night as any to right the ship.

Starting Lineup

Jayce Tingler is mixing things up tonight to try and kickstart the Padres’ bats after three underwhelming performances. Tatis is no longer the leadoff man, that will be Tommy Pham tonight. The Phenom is now in the #3 spot and he’s also the team’s DH for the night. Trent Grisham is dropping back down to the bottom of the lineup where he spent a good amount of time towards the beginning of the season and Jake Cronenworth is taking Tatis’ place at shortstop.
