Game Thread: 8/14 Padres @ Diamondbacks

Truly greatful for another series with the Diamondbacks to help work out the kinks. Tonight is game one of three in Phoenix as the Padres (11-9) look to get back on track after two rough outings in Los Angeles. The D-backs are a good 2.5 games behind the Friars in fourth place and it’d be nice to make that gap a little bit wider with a handful of wins this weekend.

Dinelson “El Flaco” Lamet (2-0) is on the mound tonight so expect some fire. He’ll be facing off against Merrill Kelly (2-1) who has also been pretty steady so far in 2020.

Starting Lineup:

Trent Grisham is back in at the #2 spot and Eric Hosmer is in the lineup for the second game in a row. Jake Cronenworth is also back in at second base which is a great sight. Francisco Mejia gets the start at catcher and Tommy Pham is your DH for the night while Jurickson Profar takes over left field for Pham.
