It’s game three-of-three tonight against the Giants and the Padres need to avoid another late bullpen collapse to keep their momentum strong through the first portion of the season. RHP Dinelson Lamet is back on the mound after earning the win in his first start. He will face righty Kevin Gausman who pitched four innings back on July 24 against the Dodgers. In that time he allowed six hits, three runs, a homer, and two strikeouts.
The Giants have been led offensively by CF Mike Yastrzemski who hit two home runs last night, including the walk-off winner. 2B Donovan Solano is far-and-away the leader in RBIs on the team with seven. Four of those have come against the Padres.
Through six games, SS Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the team with six RBIs while CF Trent Grisham, 3B Manny Machado, and RF WIl Myers have each hit two home runs, apiece. LF Tommy Pham leads the team with four stolen bases.
The Padres are currently tied with the Dodgers for second in the NL West, both of whom are a half game back behind the Rockies. San Diego’s 32 total runs scored are tops in the division and tied for seventh overall.

Hosmer is out of the lineup tonight once again due to a gastrointestinal problem that has plagued him since the season started. Tatis Jr, Grisham, and Machado are your top three with Pham and Profar in the #4 and #5 spots. Myers is your DH for the night while France is your replacement for Hosmer. Mejia gets the start at catcher and Olivares takes over for Myers in right field.
