Game Thread: 7/29 Padres @ Giants

Going for 5-1 tonight!

MLB: San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

San Diego’s Chris Paddack is back on the mound after helping the Padres get off to a winning start to begin the 2020 season and he’ll face off against Johnny Cueto whose opening day performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers included just 3 strikeouts with five hits and one run allowed in four innings pitched.

Paddack led six-scoreless innings to start their first game against Arizona and he has a great opportunity to establish himself as a premiere starting pitcher who’s on the rise in the major leagues. In his three games against the Giants last season, Paddack recorded a 2.64 ERA with a lone win at Oracle Park.

Cueto’s numbers against the Padres include an 8-4 record with a 3.30 ERA in 15 total starts.

The Padres’ young bats will look to score five or more runs for the fourth time this season as their energy on top of smart plate appearances have been the recipe for success thus far in the young campaign.

Starting Lineup:

Once again, the Padres are keeping the top-5 of their batting order untouched. Your first change from last night’s lineup is RF Wil Myers in the #6 spot and IF Jake Cronenworth getting his first start of the season at second base in place of normal starter Jurickson Profar. C Austin Hedges is back in the fold while OF Edward Olivares is your starter in left field at the #9 spot.
