There are some minor differences between tonight’s starting lineup and the one the team trotted out on Wednesday. SS Fernando Tatis Jr., 3B Manny Machado, and LF Tommy Pham are again in the one, two, and three spots but 2B Jurickson Profar and 1B Eric Hosmer have swapped places at four and five.
After RF Wil Myers and DH Ty France at six and seven, we get the 24-year old Francisco Mejia at catcher in place of usual starter Austin Hedges. Lastly, CF Trent Grisham will cap things off at the bottom of the lineup.
The sprint starts here.

This young and exciting team gets to kick things off against one of the best pitchers over the last decade. Although Bumgarner hasn’t been near his peak self the last few seasons, he’s still no slouch. What an excellent opportunity to see what this pack of potential has in store for us all.
I hope you got on your freshest gear and I hope you have all you favorite food and drinks by your side because Padres baseball is back, baby. Enjoy the game, everyone!
