The San Diego Padres reminding everyone that baseball is, indeed, back for the 2020 season by making the first trade of the resumption period. The Oakland Athletics are sending minor leaguer Jorge Mateo, a middle infielder who was last played in the United States with the AAA Las Vegas Aviators.
The Padres will require a player to be named later in return.
