Appreciating the Padres uniforms

Arguably one of the best sets in the MLB

MLB: San Diego Padres-Media Day Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Since there aren’t live sports or really anything going on in the baseball world at the moment, I think it’s time to do the first of our monthly (hell, maybe even weekly at this point) appreciation post for the Padres uniforms. The 2020 season is expected to be the first year where the team has completely eradicated the color blue from the jersey rotation and will fully-embrace the brown and gold going forward.

Being proud of your team’s jersey is one of the simplest joys that a sports fan can have. Without being an actual member of the team, jerseys can give fans indescribable feelings of camaraderie and belonging. Those feelings amplified even further when your team’s uniforms are “sick as hell.”

So that’s essentially the post. The Padres made one of the smartest moves they could by getting rid of the blue and gray and allowing the team to only rock brown and gold. Heck, even their alternate away uniform is sweet. With no reason to really leave the house, what better time is there than to lounge around the house all day in your favorite jerseys? There isn’t if you ask me.

Let’s hop in the comments and start talking. What are you thoughts on the Padres’ 2020 uniforms? What do you like most? Least? Would you want the blue and grays to come back at any point?
