Thursday morning, the MLB announced that they will be canceling the Padres-Diamondbacks series in Mexico City along with the Mets-Marlins series in San Juan. The first was scheduled for April 18-19 while the latter was set for April 28-30.
All games will be rescheduled for the home team’s sites in Miami and Arizona. It’s an unfortunate situation as the game was going to be the very first regular season contest played in Mexico City.

In other news, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced earlier this week that Opening Day would be delayed until mid-May at the earliest after the federal government recommended restricting events of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He did state that all teams remain committed to playing “as many games as possible when the season begins.”
