Spring Training is almost upon us.

Welcome back, Padres fans, to the final week or so of Winter League action. As mentioned last week, the Latin American Winter Leagues wrapped up, and 6 teams will participate in the 2020 Caribbean Series. The League champions from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Columbia will all vie for the crown (Due to visa issues, Cuba is not participating this year). Right now, only Padres Prospect OF Abraham Almonte has made it into game action. I’ll keep checking the rosters, as many of the teams conduct a supplemental draft to flesh out their rosters.

Elsewhere, the Australian Baseball League continues with their Championship Series kicking off this week. Only INF Jarryd Dale remains in action, as Adelaide eliminated Canberra yesterday, and Melbourne defeated Auckland. The Best of 3 series starts 07 February.

That’s it for the Winter Leagues. Also, a quick question for you all. I do this Forum on a weekly basis, but also compile a daily report with box score stats and articles I find interesting down in the comments section. Since the Report takes about the same time as writing the article, and the Forum really doesn’t do much but give me a place to post the Daily reports, I’m thinking of eliminating the Forum, and going to just a Daily report. Let me know what you think in the poll below.

Should the Minor League Forum transition to a Daily Prospect report, or should it stay the way it is?

Keep it the way it is. Don’t need the additional clutter on the Main Page.

Go to a Daily Report; it’ll be more organized that way.
