Padres make four roster transactions

San Diego made some moves.

On Friday afternoon, the Padres made a handful of roster transactions, including three involving pitchers.

First, the Padres designated right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo for assignment. The 27-year old appeared in 10 games in 2020, finishing with an ERA of 5.71 and a WHIP of 1.33 and 16 strikeouts.

San Diego then selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Reggie Lawson and Mason Thompson, as well as infielder Tucupita Marcano.

The 6’4 Lawson was last with the Padres during spring training and most-recently played with the Amarillo Sod Poodles. He ended the 2019 minor league season with a 3-1 record and recorded 36 strikeouts in six starts.

Thompson was originally a third-round pick of the Padres back in 2016. He spent his 2019 season mainly with the Lake Elsinore Storm where he recorded a 0-5 record in seven games played.

Marcano spent the 2019 season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. In 111 games, he slashed .270/.323/.337 with an OPS of .660 He also recorded 45 RBIs, a pair of home runs, and 45 stolen bases.
