On Wednesday afternoon, the MLB Player’s Choice Awards officially announced their award finalists, including MLB Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, as well as each conference’s Rookie of the Year honors.
Among all of the award finalist, you’ll find one Padre, and that would be none other than rookie sensation Jake Cronenworth. Obviously Cro is up for the National League’s RoY and he’ll try to do it while being up against Alec Bohm and Devin Williams.
Here are all three finalists and their stats from the 2020 season:
Phillies IF Alec Bohm
- 44 games, 54 hits (11 doubles), 24 runs scored, four home runs, 23 RBIs, one stolen base, .338 BA, .400 OBP
Padres IF Jake Cronenworth
- 54 games, 49 hits (15 doubles, three triples), 26 runs, four home runs, 20 RBIs, three stolen bases, .285 BA, .354 OBP
Brewers P Devin Williams
- 4-1 record in 22 games, .330 ERA, 27.0 innings pitched, eight hits allowed, four runs, one home run, nine walks, 53 strikeouts, .630 WHIP
Per the recent press memo, players were voted on in mid-September and the winners will be announced October 22.
