WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
WHAT: Padres try to save a series split.
WHEN: Sunday, August 4, 2019, at 1:10 p.m.
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: In Chris Paddack’s last start against the NL West-leading Dodgers, he threw 5 2⁄3 scoreless inning. The rookie ace will need to be that good again today to give the Friars a fighting chance against Kenta Maeda and co.
Maeda is coming off a less than stellar outing against the Colorado Rockies, but that was in Coors Field and his defense let him down repeatedly. In the far friendlier confines of Dodger Stadium, Maeda will pose a more imposing challenge than his most recent box score would suggest. Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr. and the rest of the Padres lineup will need to bring their A-game today.
