WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Boston Red Sox
WHAT: Padres try to avoid getting swept.
WHEN: Sunday, August 25, 2019, at 1:10 p.m.
WHERE: PetCo Park, San Diego, CA
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: After another loss last night, Joey Lucchesi will try to stop the bleeding for the Padres this afternoon. He is certainly the man to do it as he has been the team’s most productive starter in 2019. At 8-7, with a 4.20 ERA, and 129 strikeouts, the lefty isn’t anyone’s idea of a staff ace, but he has been the closest thing we have seen to one in San Diego this year.
Offensively, the Padres’ most productive hitters (non-Tatis Jr. division) have been the young guys: Francisco Mejia (.382/433/.673), Josh Naylor (.254/.343/.525), Manuel Margot (.238/.304/.476), and Luis Urias (.310/.403/.414). Hopefully, they can keep that going today.
