WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies
WHAT: Break out the brooms!
WHEN: Sunday, August 11, 2019, at 12:40 p.m.
WHERE: PetCo Park, San Diego, CA
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: After another win last night, the Padres are in position to pull off a rare 4-game sweep against their division rivals. They have managed this despite getting sub-replacement level performances from their two highest paid players in Eric Hosmer and Manny Machado. That has been possible in part because of excellent offensive performances from Manuel Margot (.571/.667/1.429), Hunter Renfroe (.455/.500/.909), Josh Naylor (.333/.556/1.000), and Fernando Tatis Jr. (.308/.400/.769).
On the pitching side, Dinelson Lamet is making his first start since he threw 6 no-hit innings (before surrendering a hit in the 7th inning) and striking out 12. If he can replicate anything approaching that, the Friars should be able to pull off the sweep.
