Swept by lowly Giants, Padres open critical 4 game set vs Los Angeles

Team enters series 2 games under .500

MLB: Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

The Padres up and down season continued with a sweep at the hands of the lowly Giants. Evan Longoria was Herculean, hitting 4 home runs in the series. Padre pitching learned that letter high fastballs in the low 90’s will get whacked around.

Who knew.

Castaway Alex Dickerson also went deep on Wednesday night, making his former team pay for letting him go.

Dinelson Lamet makes his return to the club Thursday, giving the boys a much needed boost. He’ll face off against Hyun-Jin Ryu. Ryu owns a 9-2 record and a ridiculous 1.83 ERA. There may be a pitchers duel in our future.

The Padres will head into the all-star break with many unanswered questions regarding the Rotation, Bullpen and Outfield. The team is active in the trade market as we speak. But that can wait.

Dodger stadium will be buzzing all weekend. Can the Padres regain momentum and play up to the competition? Or, will they be stuck in neutral, extending their 4 game losing streak and 2.5 game deficit?

Either way, welcome back Dinelson Lamet!

Thursday: Dinelson Lamet vs Hyun- Jin Ryu

Friday: Eric Lauer vs Clayton Kershaw

Saturday: Chris Paddack vs Kenta Maeda

Sunday: Joey Lucchesi vs Ross Stripling
