multiple home runs not enough to save the game

MLB: San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

On July 28th the Padres took on the San Francisco Giants in the last of a three-game series. Unfortunately, their efforts weren’t enough to take the win, making this the fifth series in a row they’ve lost. The Padres are now seven games below .500, which is a season low for them.

On the mound today was Adrian Morejon, who only pitched 1.2 innings. He gave up two runs and three walks all before the bottom of the second. Eric Lauer came in for 1.1 innings and kept the Giants off the board. Luis Perdomo was given the loss today, pitching for four innings giving up three runs. Robbie Erlin finished out the last two innings of the game and gave up two runs.

The Padres bats were got today, with Hunter Renfroe hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, Padres fans were filled with hope. We also saw a one run home run from Wil Myers.

The Padres take on the Baltiore Orioles tomorrow at 7:10pm in San Diego.

Final score: 6-7 Giants
