WHY: Dinelson Lamet is celebrating his 27th birthday and making his third start of the season today. His velocity since returning from Tommy John surgery is actually up as his fastball is consistently touching 99 miles per hour. And while Lamet works his way back into full health he is mostly focusing on working that fastball and his slider.
Yesterday, Chris Paddack was nearly unhittable, and today Lamet will hopefully be able to similarly keep the Marlins off the board enough to allow the offense to push the Friars across the finish line and get out of Miami with a series win.
