WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Miami Marlins
WHAT: After the pitching staff was rocked game 1, the Padres look to rebound and get back on track.
WHEN: Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at 4:10 p.m.
WHERE: Marlins Park, Miami, FL
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Game 1 looked and felt embarrassing for both the team and fans. The Marlins came in with the 3rd worst record in the majors. Every position player recorded a hit, and the Padres pitching staff was hit hard all day. Chris Paddack takes the mound looking to play stopper against his former organization. He doesn’t need any extra motivation, but being traded for an aging reliever surely helps. The team has also lost 4 in a row, so it’s his chance to make a big impact.
Fernando Tatis Jr went 0-4 with 2 K’s game 1. Rest assured that won’t happen again. Eric Hosmer and Manny Machado are likely over any butterflies they had returning home, so look to them to get back on track.
