WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals
WHAT: Friars can win the series with a win tonight.
WHEN: Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 7:10 p.m.
WHERE: PetCo Park
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Over his last four starts, Eric Lauer has averaged 6 innings and only 1 earned run. Tonight, the newly 24-year-old lefty will toe the rubber against the Nationals in game 3 of this 4-game set. Some of Lauer’s recent success is attributable to good batted ball luck (.232 BABIP) but he has also had exception control (17:3 K:BB ratio) during this run.
Offensively, rookie phenom Fernando Tatis Jr. has continued to be just as good as he was before his injury. He has already added 0.3 WAR to his season total in only two games back. And in those two games the Padres have scored 5 runs in both. Hopefully, they can keep that going tonight against Max Scherzer.
