If you are a Padres fan, I’m sure you have a favorite player. Some might say Franmil Reyes because he is so consistent with his home runs. Or Eric Hosmer because he leads the team with RBI’s. It might be Hunter Renfroe who has made himself a huge asset for the team with his incredibly athletic catches in the outfield, or his home run stats that are almost tied with Reyes. But if you are anything like me, the rookie, athlete and character who has your heart is Fernando Tatis Jr.
Tatis Jr. is back in San Diego after spending time with the Padres double-a team, doing rehab on his hamstring. Tatis Jr. came out of a game against the Washington Nationals, on April 30th, in the 10th inning after stretching to make a play, that even made most professional dancers cringe. After the game it was announced that he suffered a left hamstring strain and was immediately put on the 10-day Injured List (IL). Unfortunately, it has been more than 10 days and more like 5 weeks. Luckily, Tatis Jr. posted a picture on his Instagram in a Padres uniform which leads us to believe he is back and ready to take on the Washington Nationals once again. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the energy and charisma that Tatis Jr. brings to the team once again. With his return, the Padres might just get their groove back and take the team where we all know they can go.
