Manny returns to Baltimore, Padres in town for 2 game set

Team looks to rebound after being swept by Pirates

Manny Machado makes his return to Baltimore Tuesday night as the Padres take on the Orioles. A 1st round pick by the O’s in 2010, Machado spent his entire career there up until last year. “I’m looking forward to seeing the home crowd that supported me the last 8 years”, said Machado. “It’s going to be really fun to play in front of them again.”

The fan base loved him, and he loved him back. It’ll be interesting to see how they react, but I’d bet on a nice standing ovation for the former fan favorite.

The Padres send Logan Allen to the mound for his second career start. Allen was lights out against the Brewers, throwing 7 shut out innings.

He’ll face off against 27 year old Jimmy Yacabonis. Yacabonis has started just 1 game this year, and hasn’t thrown more than 3 innings. It’ll be interesting to see if they stretch him.

The Padres will try to rebound from a disappointing sweep at the hands of the Pirates. The bullpen blew multiple 3 run leads after the 8th inning on Sunday. Still, they’re just 2.5 games out of the wild card.

The O’s are 1-9 in their last 10 games, firmly in rebuilding mode. Their 56 losses lead the majors.

Game time is 7:05 EST.
