Chris Paddack makes his return this afternoon in Pittsburgh. The big right hander is reportedly feeling great after his short break. He had a chance to work on his off speed pitches as well as get himself right mechanically. Needless to say, Padre fans are eager to see the stud rookie back in action. If the team gets 6 clean innings they’ll be very pleased.
He’ll face off against Chris Archer, who has struggled all year with his control. Archer is 3-6 5.85 ERA. He’s given up nearly as many homers this year as he did last year (17 vs 19). He’s walked 33 batters, on pace to be the highest total of his career. Patience will be the name of the game for Padre hitters.
Game time is 1:05 PM
