WHY: Last time out, Joey Lucchesi threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 6. No Padres starter has had anywhere near that kind of success since then (it was not easy to have success as a pitcher in Denver this past weekend). The hope is that he can pick up where he left off against the San Francisco Giants and put up another quality start against the Brewers.
Offensively, the Padres have been averaging 11 runs per game during the last four games and while that is a tough bar to clear, the lineup will certainly be trying to keep things trending the same way they have been.
