WHO: San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies
WHAT: Padres have a chance to split the series with a win today.
WHEN: Sunday, June 16, 2019, at 12:10 p.m.
WHERE: Coors Field
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Rookie lefthander Nick Margevicius takes his turn in the rotation today for the Padres as they look to bounce back after yesterday’s loss. He will be hoping to keep the Rockies under 9 runs this afternoon, a feat that the Friars pitching staff has been unable to manage in the previous 3 games. It is not often you can score 30 runs over three games and still manage to come away with two losses. The pitching will need to do a better job today.
That 30-run effort has been fueled in no small part by Manny Machado who has batted .600 with 2 doubles and 3 home runs during the stretch. Almost as big of a contributor has been Fernando Tatis Jr. who has slashed .538/.571/.923 even without putting one over the wall.
