WHY: Matt Strahm gave up 7 runs over 4 1⁄3 innings in his last outing and now he leads the Padres as they travel to Coors Field. And while the Rockies are a mediocre hitting team, Coors is still one of the best hitting environments in the Majors. This will be a serious challenge as he tries to bounce back.
Offensively, while the Padres are middle of the road as a hitting club (22nd) over the course of the season, they have been the worst hitting team in the Majors over the last week. They have slashed an anemic .203/.270/.308 during that stretch. Hopefully, they can get back on track tonight.
