WHO: San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants
WHAT: It’s Paddack Day!
WHEN: Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 6:45 p.m.
WHERE: Oracle Park
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Recently right-hander Chris Paddack has not looked like the ace he did at the beginning of the season, but if ever there was an opportunity to get right it’s against the lowly San Francisco Giants, the worst hitting team in the Majors. The Giants as a team have a wRC+ of 74 which is stunningly bad.
The Padres have not been a great hitting team this year either, but they’re significantly better than their divisional rival. Also, the Friars have been without their star shortstop, Fernando Tatis Jr., for a large chunk of the season and now that he’s back he’s absolutely destroying opposing pitching. Through 4 games, Tatis is slashing .455/.538/.818 which is just absurd.
Tonight should be a low-scoring game, but it’s also one San Diego ought to win.
