WHO: San Diego Padres vs. New York Mets
WHAT: Padres can take down the series with another win tonight.
WHEN: Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 7:10 p.m.
WHERE: PetCo Park
HOW: Watch on FOX Sports San Diego (or FOX Sports Go), listen on 97.3FM The Fan. Spanish broadcasts on FOX Deportes San Diego and XEMO 860AM.
WHY: Last night, rookie Chris Paddack outdueled reigning Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom en route to a 4-0 victory. He set career highs in innings pitched (7 2/3) and strikeouts (11). Tonight, another rookie, Cal Quantrill, will make his second career start. And the Mets will roll out another outstanding veteran pitcher in Noah Syndergaard.
It will be a big ask of Quantrill to match the incredible performance of Paddack, but he probably won’t need to as Syndergaard, though good, is not quite the pitcher deGrom is. Hopefully, the lineup can keep producing for another night and the Padres can win the series tonight.
